I am not quite sure how it is already April. I also can't believe we only have about 7 weeks of school left. With my 3-month absence, I sure do have a lot to share.
We missed the ice castles last year but we (safely) made it there this year. They never disappoint.
We skied every weekend this winter. The girls finished their lessons on March 13th but we still continued to get onto the mountain for some family ski time. Over our February break, we ventured to 2 different resorts for a little ski vacation--Snowbasin and Powder Mountain.
We rented a little condo in Eden, Utah for a few nights.
We also got out for some cross country skiing at the Ogden Nordic Center.
Andy and I got vaccinated! We brought the girls along for our first shot but our second shot was at the hospital and kids were not allowed inside.
We didn't have the biggest winter, but February hit us hard with snowfall. We took full advantage of it and did a lot of cross country skiing and even managed to get our sledding hill up and running for a bit.
When we run out of places to put the snow, we have to pack down the piles and push some further down our yard.
We also skied at Deer Valley one day.
Some days were even nice enough to do a little tailgating in the parking lot of the resort.
In other Tullis family news...
This girl visited the orthodontist for the first time. We will go back in May to re-evaluate.
Emma wanted to try basketball this winter. She loved it!
The guineas get lots of love and snuggles.
Emma turned 11 on March 11th (her golden birthday). What?!?! There was no store-bought cake for her. She made her own chocolate cake and vanilla cupcakes...from scratch.
We did a little decorating to help celebrate her big day.
For her birthday "party" she had a ski day with her best friend, Katharine. They have known each other since they were in diapers.
The past few recent weekends have been lovely. We have skied in the morning and biked in the afternoon.
We always have to dye eggs for Easter!
Easter morning, 2021
It was another beautiful day to ski on Easter.
This is the sweatshirt Emma got from her ski program this past winter--AMP (All Mountain Performance). On this particular day, she was wearing it to remember her ski coach who passed away in a car accident the week prior. It was a hard day for her to be on the mountain but she was a trooper.
I mean...what 11-year old would ask to make deviled eggs for an Easter appetizer? This girl!
We celebrated Easter on the driveway at Uncle Jim and Aunt Robin's house.
