Getting Us To Summer Vacation

There was no shortage of events from when we returned home from our Spring Break trip to the end of the school year (aka "summer vacation").  Even though winter returned a couple of times, we made the best of it.

April 22nd--The white stuff is not done with us yet...

April 16th:  We had such a wet, cold spring that Abigail's first couple of soccer practices were held at the Rec. Center.

getting our eggs ready for Easter

April 17th:  Happy Easter.  The girls are on the hunt for eggs

Easter breakfast--Abigail's request

We made these cute bunnies to hand out as gifts at Easter brunch.

How creative can one get to set up a phone for a group photo?!

April 20th:  Finally--nice weather for some outdoor spring soccer.  This was Abby's first year of doing spring soccer.  It was 3rd and 4th grades, coed.

April 27th:  Abigail got an expander and some braces on the top.

April 30th:  For Christmas, Abigail got a coupon for a family trip to a Real Salt Lake professional soccer game, with treats, of course.  It was a beautiful afternoon for a soccer game.

May 9th:  Happy Birthday, Abigail!!  She requested homemade pizzas for her birthday.

Emma made Abigail's birthday cake and frosting from scratch!  It was so yummy!

Side note: It snowed on Abigail's birthday.

May 12th:  Abigail has been an avid reader.  She decided she wanted to make cookies from a recipe in the back of one of her books.

May 14th:  more soccer

May 16th: Abigail got her ears pierced! (This was also a Christmas present.)

May 17th:  Emma's last band concert of the school year

May 18th:  team photo

Emma had a countdown going...

May 21st:  Today was Running with Ed(ucation)!  This is always such a fun day.  This year, we dressed as teacher zombies...we were exhausted at the end of the school year.

Emma ran with Ecker Hill Middle School this year.  Their mascot is the timberwolf.

Abigail also ran with us.  She dressed as a brain because, well, teacher zombies love brains!

Andy chose to run up the steps at the Utah Olympic Park again...

It was a great day for running, but a little chilly on the "sidelines."

May 28th:  We went camping down at our friend's property in Vernal for Memorial Day Weekend.

The water was chilly!  We didn't even get the paddle boards into the water.

What a gorgeous sunset!

May 29th:  Today we explored 3 ghost towns--Watson, Rainbow, and Dragon.

very old mine shaft

May 30th: We let the kiddos play at the water before we headed back home.

And...this is what we came home to...

May 31st:  One of the benefits of my new position is that the end of the year is a little more flexible.  So this year, I got to hike PC hill with Abigail and her class.

June 1st:  Field Day!

June 1st:  We are so proud of this girl!  She joined Junior Devo, which is part of the high school mountain bike team.  On this particular evening, there was a mother/daughter ride.  So fun!  She has practices 3x/week.

June 3rd:  Last day of school--Here is Abigail with her 2 teachers (left = Mrs. Warren/English; right = Maestra Bonilla/Spanish).

Last day of 6th grade for Emma...

Last day of 3rd grade for Abigail...

It's pretty awesome that the Park City Education Foundation puts up banners on Main Street with every, single. employee of the Park City School District.

Emma and I volunteered to help set up for the Ecker Hill end-of-the-year party at Town Lift.

June 4th:  Emma took an "Elegant Dinner" cooking class.  (This was a Christmas gift.) She made salmon wellington, roasted vegetables, and homemade dressing for the salad.

June 5th:  Andy and I played 18-holes of golf with his dad and Terry.

Let the summer festivities begin!!
