Camping Trip #2

For this trip, we left the paddle board behind and packed our bikes instead.  We headed to McCoy Flats (right outside of Vernal) for our next camping adventure.

Along with some biking, we hiked to Moonshine Arch.

The views were spectacular!

On the way home, we stopped to explore an area of fossilized fish scales and shark teeth.

It isn't a successful camping trip unless the kids come home filthy from playing in dirt and sand.

The sunset was beautiful!

On the way back to Park City, we stopped to check out the area around Skinwalker Ranch.  We only made it halfway down this dirt road because we saw this truck pointed towards us so we didn't want to push it.

Abigail's 7th Birthday

I decided to do a separate post for Abigail's birthday since she couldn't have a birthday party like Emma did.  We can't believe this little firecracker is 7 years old.

This girl loves unicorns! We like to watch the animals on the San Diego Zoo web cams, especially the giraffes and rhinos.  The San Diego Zoo calls the rhinos "chubby unicorns" so we thought this would be a fun gift for her.

During this crazy time, our sheriff department is doing special birthday appearances.  We took full advantage for Abigail's birthday.

Papa Tom, Grandma Terry, and Neena stopped by for a visit.

We did a family birthday Zoom call.  It's amazing to get family "together" from all over the country!

Our 1st Camping Trip of the Year!

In a typical year, our 1st camping trip would be over spring break.  Since this is not a typical kind of year, we had to wait until our "Stay at Home" order was lifted in order to leave our county for non-essential travel.  So...when our county's order was lifted on Friday, May 1st, we hit the road for the great outdoors.

We were right next to the San Rafael River so we took full advantage of the water on the warm days.

First trip of the year on our paddle board.

Emma made blueberry bars so we could celebrate Abigail's birthday (which is May 9th).

On the way home, we stopped to take a look at a dinosaur print.

April Adventures--Social Distance Style

It was around this time that our county put a "Stay at Home" order in place, meaning we should only leave our house and country for essential business.  This was quite an adjustment for us since we are always on the go.  We managed.  There were really good days and not so good days.  Thank goodness we could still get outside to recreate!

Easter 2020

We made paper maché eggs (which later turned into color birdhouses since they took a while to dry).

Our other April adventures consisted of a little of this and a little of that (with still doing school 4 hours/day for the kids and 6.5 hours/day for Andy and me).

I love taking walks with this girl.

Abigail wanted to learn about koalas...

...and the difference between black and red ants.

Aunt Tina sent the girls some crafts to keep them busy.

Grandma Sherry made this beautiful Elsa dress for Abigail.

We went for a lot of bike rides.

The girls did a lot of cooking and baking.

Sometimes they even took our order.

Andy and the girls made bread and naan.

Our team has passed out packets and iPads on a couple of occasions, mask and gloves included, of course.

One of our students showed up with this awesome sign for us! I sure miss those kiddos.

I think we had one of the most colorful streets in the neighborhood.

The remote control cars have gotten a lot of use lately.

We ventured up to the Uintas a couple of times for hikes and picnics.

The girls camped out in the basement, since we could not go camping because of the "Stay at Home" order.

On Earth Day, we picked up trash around the neighborhood.

The Barbies have been very busy lately.

Don't ask...

Emma and Andy have been doing quite a bit of art, especially watercolor.

The girls got all of their fairy garden supplies organized.
