Spring Has Not Sprung...Yet

I have to keep telling myself that we live in the mountains--at 7100 feet. We live in the mountains. We live in the mountains. Last night, we got another 10 inches of snow. It seems winter wants to stay with us a bit longer this year. If we want to see green grass and tulips we have to go down to Salt Lake.

Emma's 2nd Easter

We celebrated Easter at great-grandma Abbie's house this year.

Just Like Mama!

For those of you that know me really well, you know that I used to LOVE ketchup on EVERYTHING--potato chips, eggs, rice, french fries, you name it. I have tamed down my ways a bit, but we recently found out we have another ketchup lover in the family. Emma loved to dip her sweet potato fries into the ketchup.

Ski Day!

Andy and I got out for one last ski day together. Andy decided to go for the 80's look...

13 Months Old!

Okay, I know this photo is very late but I do have a good reason. These past couple of weeks have been anything but calm and relaxing. A couple of Sundays ago, we were at the ER at midnight. Emma had woken up at 11:30 p.m. coughing and it seemed to us that she was having trouble breathing. Not quite sure what else to do, we got into the car and drove to the ER. It turned out to be croup. It's highly contagious so she was home for a couple of days, which meant Andy and I each took a day off from work. On the Monday I was home from work with Emma, our basement had a flood. So here I am, trying to take care of Emma and vacuum up water at the same time. Not fun. Thank goodness Andy's dad lives in Salt Lake. Not knowing what else to do, and the water very close to getting into the carpet in the living room, I called Andy's dad, Tom. He came up and vacuumed up all of the water and got everything under control. Thank you, Tom!! So...these past couple of weeks we've been trying to figure out how to fix the problem and make it right. We've had a couple of companies come out to give us suggestions and estimates. These companies are VERY busy right now because flooding is a huge problem around here right now. We have gotten so much snow and the water levels are so high that many people are dealing with this problem. The good news: It can get fixed. Yay! The bad news: We will probably have to put our trip to Alaska on hold for another year. Boo!

So anyways, here are our beautiful girl's 13-months photos:

Living Planet Aquarium

When my dad was in town, we took Emma to the Living Planet Aquarium down in Salt Lake. She loved it!

Emma's First Trip to the Zoo

We had a great time at the zoo! Emma was very curious about everything. She especially loved looking at the gorilla, monkeys, elephants and tigers. It will be great when she gets older, too, because the Hogle Zoo (in Salt Lake City) offers a lot of fun events for kids--Christmas tree lighting, Halloween festivities, etc...

Mom, Can I Have Some Money?

Uh-Oh. I think we may be in trouble when Emma gets a little older.

Pantry Closet Renovation

My dad is in town and that means projects are getting done around the house! I have disliked our pantry closet since the day we moved in over a year ago. It was time to say good-bye to the poor layout and dirty walls. Hello more space and a cleaner closet!
