Bark in the Park

Emma and I are staying busy while Andy is fishing in Alaska.  Today, we participated in the Bark in the Park 5-K9 fun run.  It was a blast to watch all of the dogs and their owners taking up neighborhood streets.  Kiddie pools were placed along the route so the dogs could cool off and get drinks of water.  Vendors were set up, selling anything you could imagine that is doggy-related.  They also had competitions for the dogs.  We participated in two of them and won (well, tied for first) both!  The first was the dog and owner look-alike contest.  The other one was the howling contest.  Cooper's howl could have lasted much long had he heard a siren!

After running the 5K, we cooled down by participating in the 1K leisurely stroll.  This was Emma's first 1K!

Good ol' Cooper did great!  He ran the entire way (usually, we have to stop and walk because of his arthritis).

Jim, Robin, and Claire brought their dog, Sammy, to the festivities.

At first, I thought I was the only dog and owner look-alike contest participant, but then about 6 more people (and their dogs) joined in.

Here I am, trying to get Cooper to pose with us.  Eventually, he sat right next to us.

More Camping!

We ventured up to the Uintas with the Ostroski family for another fantastic camping trip...

Larry gave Andy a lesson on fishing--Utah style.

giving Emma kisses...

Larry cooked up some delicious trout for an appetizer.  Yum!

Emma loved to help with the dishes.

Cooper was thoroughly exhausted on our last night.

She loves camping!

This is the result of Emma dipping her (gourmet) grilled cheese/bacon/tomato sandwich into her tomato soup.

4th of July

We spent our 4th of July with amazing friends and family. We started out the day by going to the parade in Park City. C.raaaaaaa.zy. So many people. So much excitement. So many festive people. Then we headed to the cabin to do a little hiking and BBQing.

patiently waiting for the parade to start...

fire truck!

Jen, Larry, and Avila went to the parade with us.

I love this picture!  Here we are...most of our gang with the kiddos...all in their backpacks..ready to go for a hike in Brighton.

Emma took a little tumble in the dirt at the cabin and this is the result...

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July, as well!

Bryce Canyon National Park

We took my mom and Pete down to Bryce Canyon National Park so they could witness the beauty of another part of Utah.

Emma insisted on carrying her own backpack.

She loves the water hose.

Due to extremely dry conditions and the many wildfires in Utah, campfires were a no-no.  We had to be creative with our s'mores.

It was bright...

We took them on an amazing 3-mile hike.

They did it!

We had a fun time!!!
