January 2024

Happy 2024!!  This is going to be a light blog update.  With basketball and skiing starting at the beginning of the month, Sundays and Mondays are our only free days out of the week.

Basketball started back up for both girls.  On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays you can find us at the Basin Rec. Fieldhouse.  Andy and I each take one of the girls 2 nights/week so we see each of the girls play.  This helps to make sure we each get a couple of free nights each week (and to help get dinner ready).

We only have a couple of photos from skiiing this month.  More to come...

On one Friday, since Emma gets out at 11:30, she dropped her school stuff off at my room (our school is right next door to her school), she got her ski stuff on, and she and a friend walked to the bus stop and headed to the resort.

The Sundance Film Festival was back in town.  Even though we didn't get tickets for any movies this year, we did ski down to Main Street for lunch one Saturday during the festival.  It is a great place for some people watching!

January 12th:  It was a sad day in our house today.  One of our guinea pigs, Patches, passed away.  We knew she wasn't doing well (lethargic, lack of eating).  It's hard to lose a pet, no matter how big or small.  Now Ruth is on her own and has been getting lots of love and attention.

January 28th:  We went down to Ben and Brandi's to watch a little football.  We hadn't seen them in forever so it was good to catch up.  And...the girls got their dog fix with Angus and Whiskey.

January 29th:  Abigail was named as a Moose of the Month for her 5th grade class!!

December 2023

Yikes.  One more month until we put a wrap on 2023.

December 3rd:  Today was our first family day out on the slopes for the season!

December 8th:  Abby has been going to Woodward quite a bit lately.  What a great place to let out some energy!

December 9th:  Abby decided she wanted to play indoor soccer this year.  In the end, she didn't enjoy it as much as outdoor, and she realized she does not like co-ed.  (The boys kick it way to hard and she has been hit more than once by the soccer ball.)

That evening was Emma's first school dance.  She looked beautiful and had a lot of fun!

December 10th:  We went to a Holiday Sing-a-Long at the Egyptian Theater with my sister.

December 15th:  Today was our Holiday Sing-a-Long at School.  The music teacher did a great job of incorporating all different cultures in the program.

That afternoon, we all went tubing at Woodward with my sister.  The girls and my sister had gone before but it was a first for Andy and me.  So fun!

After tubing, Emma and Abby went inside to enjoy the trampoline park.

December 22nd:  After Abigail was down for about 5 days with the flu, it felt good to get out her out and get some fresh air.

December 24th:  Merry Christmas Eve!!  It was a gorgeous day to get out on the skis, and show off a little holiday spirit, as well.

That evening, it was off to the Whitney's for a fun-filled Hawaiian-themed Christmas Eve!

December 25th:  Merry Christmas!!

December 27th:  Abigail and my sister are reading the Harry Potter books.  Abigail got a lego set for Christmas.

My mom and Pete stopped by for a few nights on their way to Arizona for the month of January.  Tonight we took them ice skating at the Millcreek Center.

December 28th:  Today we explored the Utah Natural History Museum and then went to the Whitney's for games and pizza.

December 31st:  Happy New Year's Eve!!!

You'll always see a puzzle in the works at our house.
