Daddy/Daughter Camping Trip

Andy took Emma camping down in Moab a couple of weekends ago.  They met up with some of our friends (and their littles) and had a blast!  My favorite story from the trip:  Emma was all tucked into her sleeping bag in the tent.  Andy and the others were hanging out around the fire.  All of a sudden, Emma calls out from the tent, "Dad, you forgot to brush my teeth."  Well, I'd say we've got her trained.

It's amazing how much entertainment a shovel and bucket can bring a 3-year old.

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a model pose or not...

I love camping!!!

As for Momma here, I'm hanging in there--getting a bit uncomfortable and so ready to meet our new addition.  I am done working for the school year so now it's just a matter of waiting until she is ready to meet us.

Easter 2013 (and a Few Extras)

We had a pretty low-key Easter morning at our house.  Emma woke up to not 1, but 2, baskets from the Easter bunny.  We also had a little egg hunt around the house.

Yep, there was one right next to the moose poop.

This is what one exhausted little girl looks like when we get home from a hike.

She is lovin' her big girl bed.

Update...

Here is an update to my earlier post:  Well, the best case scenario prevailed and our little munchkin cooperated and she is now head down!  I was at the hospital for about 4 hours.  Thank goodness I brought my computer so I could get some work done during those wait times.  The 'version' process, itself, only took about 1 minute. (Thank goodness for insurance!)  One physician cradled her head with his hand and the other physician pushed on my belly.  It only took about 3 nudges/pushes to get her to move and, boy, do my ribs feel a relief!  Her heart rate dipped so they put me on oxygen for about 30 minutes and, fortunately, her heart rate went back to normal.  They monitored both of our heart rates for about another hour and then discharged me.  I am now at home, sitting on the couch doing homework and watching my fair share of the Lifetime Movie Network.

Unexpected Events

Well, this pregnancy is not going as planned!  Emma set the bar too high.  I went in for my check-up yesterday and this little one has decided to go breech on us.  So, here I am, sitting in the hospital, hooked up to an IV, waiting for a procedure called 'version' to see if they can get her head down.  Best case, she cooperates and gets her head down and I can be on my merry way.  Worst case, she doesn't tolerate the pushing and prodding, her heart rate goes down and does not go back up.  That means I would need an emergency C-section.  Yikes!  We're not ready yet!  Stay tuned for more details....
