 Happy May!  The school year is coming to an end and our summer calendar is filling up...fast.  

May 2nd:  We went to a Real Salt Lake (professional soccer) game.

May 3rd: bike ride with Abby--She decided to join the mountain bike team, as well!  So...club soccer and mountain biking for her this summer and fall.

May 4th:  It's amazing to sit at Abby's soccer practice and look one direction and see the film studios building and look another direction and see a training facility for the US Ski and Snowboard teams.

May 7th:  soccer game in Salt Lake

May 8th: Today we had Abby's birthday party at Paint Fusion.

May 9th:  Happy 13th Birthday, Abigail!!

That evening, we went to the Art Cafe in Salt Lake.  Instead of ordering food from the menu, you ordered your preferred medium of art, whether it was collage, clay, painting pottery, drawing, or watercolor.  Super fun!

May 11th: When Abby has soccer practice and I want to exercise,  I hike PC Mountain (and get a good view of her practicing).

May 16th: It's one of our favorite days of the year--Running with Ed(ucation)!  This year, our school went with the Finding Nemo theme.  I was Darla (from the dentist's office); Andy was a seagull (Mine! Mine!); Emma was Nemo.

May 18th:  The snow is not done yet.

May 21st-25th:  I flew back to WI to help with my grandma's estate sale.

My mom has some baby foxes living in her culverts.

We went to my grandma's (she is in memory care at a nursing home) and planted flowers with her. She loved it!

April 2026

 Once April hits, the countdown is on until the end of the school year.  Spring soccer starts to wrap up, but then it's time to get ready for the mountain bike season.  We were excited when Abby said she wanted to do the mountain bike team!  The calendar is already filling up for summer.

April 5th:  Happy Easter!  You are never too old to do an Easter egg hunt.

April 9th:  Our school put on a musical this year--Finding Nemo.  Emma and I spent a few hours helping to make costumes and set pieces.  We made the octopus and helped with the jellyfish.

April 12th-18th:  Happy Spring Break to us!  We spent the first couple of nights camping and biking in Fruita, CO.  We took advantage of the mountain biking trails in the area of 18 Road.

Somebody was tired from all of the riding.

Abby said she likes doing dishes more when we are camping than when we are at home.

Then we made our way to Moab, UT for a few days of biking and hiking.

Each night, before sunset, we'd meet some friends and drive the remote control cars around.

Our friend's dog insisted on being in the picture with us.

We hiked around Arches National Park.

We didn't hike to Delicate Arch on this trip, but we did hike to a scenic viewpoint of it.

We biked the Bar M trails and the new Mud Springs trail system.

We hiked to Corona Arch.

Before we headed home, we hiked the Fiery Furnace in Arches National Park.  

April 20th:  I love going on rides with this girl!

Emma and I are doing a 5k together on June 6th.  She is my running buddy.
