Spring Break 2022

We had an amazing spring break last week!  It sure was nice to get back to camping and refresh the mind for a week.

April 10th: Our 1st stop was Goblin Valley.  Even though we have been here many times, we always find new things to do each time.

April 11th:  Today we hiked Little Wildhorse Canyon.  We tried to do this a few years back but had to turn around due to water in the slot canyon.

It was a little chilly in the morning.

Abby decided that she wanted to hike up the mountain one more time before heading out on our hike.

After the hike, we made our way to Torrey, where we met up with some friends with a cabin in the area.  It started to get really windy that afternoon.  Actually, it was quite windy the entire time we were there.

It got quite chilly that night.  Luckily, the girls were able to sleep inside the cabin and Andy and I slept in the camper.  It was so windy that night!

April 12th: Well, we woke up to snow!  It got down to about 15 degrees.  Andy and I stayed warm in the camper, thank goodness.

That morning, we hiked to an area called Lionshead.  The kids loved exploring and climbing around the rocks.

After a pretty relaxing afternoon, the kids played some yard games and we hung out around the fire that evening.

April 13th: This morning, we took about a 2-mile walk around some of the property.  (They own about 140 acres.)

In the afternoon, we went horseback riding in Capitol Reef National Park.  It was such an awesome experience!

getting the "horse talk"

Emma's horse was named BMW.

My horse's name was Buddy.  We were a great match.  He was very cautious, just like me.  Andy's horse was named Rio.

Abby's horse was named Frankie Blue Eyes.

April 14th:  What a gorgeous hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls!  It was 3-miles in and then 3-miles back.

The kids and dads had a pre-dinner swim at a local hotel (where our friend's mom rented a room so we could swim there).

One last night around the campfire, and it wasn't even that windy!
