Family Time!

It was about a month ago when the girls and I were in Washington D.C./Maryland area for my cousins' b'nai mitzvah.  It was such an amazing experience for us.  And, we got to spend some quality time with family, too.  It's about time I share some of the photos!

Good morning from Takoma Park, Maryland!

Emma helped Frederick add a few more Halloween decorations to the front yard at their house.

Abby and Oliver in a very intense game of foosball on the front porch

It was so much fun to surprise my mom, Pete, and Grandma!  They had no idea we were coming!

Later that night came the big party to celebrate! They had a deejay and emcee to keep the party going.

There was a candy buffet.

You know you're not in Utah when they fill your wine class more than half full!

There were a couple of dancers to do games with the kiddos (and to show us old people how to bust a move to the music of today!).

And...she's out.

The next day was Simon's 9th birthday so we celebrated by having a cookie cake.

We got to spend a few more hours with family the next morning before heading to the airport.

Next up was Halloween.

Our school always does a Halloween parade.  Here is Wizard Andy with Mermaid Abigail.

Emma was Maria from The Sound of Music.  Thank you, Grandma, for sewing the dress!

Abby insisted I make her mermaid costume (even though we had offers for hand-me-down mermaid costumes).  So after cutting (a lot) of glitter foam into scales and using (a lot) of hot glue sticks, here it is...

The 2nd grade team dressed as witches this year.

After school, we took the city bus to Main Street for more Halloween festivities.

It was packed, as usual.

Then the girls took part in the kids Thriller dance.  Too fun!

Then it was back on the bus to get back to our car.

Even the bus driver was in the Halloween spirit that night.

A couple of weeks later, Andy's sister, Whitney, came to visit with her two daughters.  We love cousin time!

Little Stevie is only 3 months old (and as cute as a button).

We love playing games and puzzles!

Abby and Emma made breakfast one morning.  Abby made her biscuits.

Emma made 2 kinds of scrambled eggs: plain and cheesy

We took Kennedy to the climbing gym.

And that about covers the end of October and all of November.  We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
