Road Trip to Mt. Rushmore!

This was our second big trip this summer.  My mom's husband welded Andy a trailer, from scratch, so we met in the middle to pick it up.

Not too bad for a week-long camping trip...

Campsite #1:  Vedauwoo (outside of Laramie, Wyoming)

Our campsite at the Mt. Rushmore KOA

Andy and Pete next to his NEW trailer!

Abigail loved the horses at the KOA.

A tired little girl for the first part of Mt. Rushmore
It's so amazing!  I notice something different each time.

Thank goodness the KOA had a pool!

It also had a foam/suds pool.

Emma loved mini golf!

The bouncy houses were a hit, too.

On one of the days, we drove to Jewel Cave National Monument.  Unfortunately, Abigail was not so cooperative when we got down into the cave, so I decided it would be best for all to just leave the tour and wait elsewhere.
She seemed happy before the tour.

On the way home, we stopped for lunch in Custer.

Chillin' at our campsite...

Another day, we ventured out to Reptile Gardens...

Abigail was all about touching the huge tortoises!

Emma was a little bit more apprehensive.

We watched an alligator show which was a little, uh, scary at times.  There were about 20 alligators and crocodiles in the area while the man was doing the show.

Abigail was enthralled with watching this vine snake.  She kept trying to catch the snake as it moved up and down the glass.

On the way home, we walked around the town of Keystone.

Campsite #6:  Rawlins KOA

We had visitors!

Wyoming has some very beautiful places: Jackson, Yellowstone, Tetons...but driving on I-80 across the state is just not too exciting...
