September 2025

 Fall is in full swing!

Ahh...demo.  The demo part is not the hard part.  It's hauling all of the old stuff away that's hard.

September 6th:  Andy and I went to the Utah football game vs. Cal Poly.  It was a little rainy in the beginning, but got better throughout the game.

September 12th-14th:  We spent the weekend in Garden City for Emma's bike race.  You can't go to Bear Lake without getting a raspberry shake!

We loved that Papa and Grandma Terry came to cheer Emma on!

September 18th:  Fall is such a gorgeous time of year in Park City!

September 20th:  Emma's Homecoming 2025

September 21st:  We made a quick trip to Brighton to start closing up the cabin.

September 22nd:  While Abby had soccer practice, I hiked up to PC Hill.  What a view from the top!

September 23rd: The new flooring is going in!

September 26th-27th:  This weekend we were in Vernal for 1 night for Emma's bike race.  This was her last race of the season.

Neena came to cheer Emma on.

My sister and Drew made the trip from Minnesota for the race.

August 2025

We made the most of the time we had in August before we had to go back to work.  Summer always seems to go so fast.

August 1st-3rd: We went to Vernal, Utah for the weekend.  Vernal is a small town but it is packed with things to do.

After we set up camp at McCoy Flats, we drove to the race course for one of Emma's bike races and pre-rode the course.

The next morning, we biked right from our campsite to the Got Milk? trail for a beautiful morning ride.

That afternoon, we drove to Red Fleet State Park for some fun in the water.

We wrapped up a great weekend with one last bike ride at McCoy Flats.

August 4th: Round 2 of braces, here we go!

August 6th: The old flooring continues to get torn up--yay!

My sister has come out to Park City to spend time with the girls (when Andy and I have to go back to work) since Emma was in kindergarten.

August 15th:  This weekend was Emma's first bike race of the season.  As we were driving to Price, Utah, we broke down on the side of Highway 6, about 20 miles from Price.  Everything stopped.  We had no acceleration.  This was at about 7:30 p.m.  We called a tow truck.  Emma's coach came to pick up Emma and me and drove us to the hotel.  Andy stayed with the car and rode in the tow truck to drop off the car at a car shop in Price.  (Thank goodness Abby stayed with my sister that night and they drove down the next day.)  This was not how we expected to start the weekend.

The next morning, we found out that it was the alternator.  They replaced the alternator and off we went to the bike race.  (Side note:  The alternator they used got us home, but I ended up taking my car down to the Honda shop and I needed to get a Honda alternator.  Supposedly, Honda does not take well to non-Honda parts. Ugh.)

Emma had a great race!  She finished 12th. (Due to incoming weather, they shortened the afternoon races from 2 laps to 1 lap.

August 17th:  Abby and my sister went to a Harry Potter exhibit down in Salt Lake City.

packing their lunches for the 1st day of school

August 18th:  Happy 1st day of school!  We have a 7th grader and a 10th grader.

Abby had the opportunity to play in a soccer tournament down in Salt Lake City over Labor Day weekend.  Since she is a guest player on the 2013 red team, she goes to the practices but doesn't play in any of the league games.  So getting to play in a tournament was awesome for her.

August 30th:  Bike race #2 was in Mantua, Utah.  This race didn't go so well.  Emma got a flat, crashed, and finished last.  However, she didn't get hurt, so that is all that matters.

August 31st: And the demo continues...
