We had the week of February 17-21 off so we took advantage of that time and flew down to the Phoenix area for the week. We visited 2 grandmas, both at 55+ communities. When we left our house, we had just gotten a foot of snow. We left that for sun, shorts, and flip flops for a week. Lovely.
February 15th: We flew into Phoenix, picked up our rental car, and drove down to Casa Grande to visit Grandma Sherry and Pete.
February 16th: We went to the Casa Grande Ruins. We have seen a lot of ruins in southern Utah but this was, by far, the biggest we've seen.
Then we stopped at a beautiful area for lunch and photos.

The pool was calling our name so we spent a couple of hours soaking up the sun.
February 17th: This was a first for us--an ostrich farm!

After our monster truck tour, we fed the animals.
Afterwards, we stopped at Picacho Peak State Park for lunch and a hike.
It was another gorgeous day so we took advantage and played a little pickle ball, followed by more swimming.
February 18th: We had a fantastic time in Casa Grande but it was time to head up to Mesa to visit Neena (Andy's mom). Andy's sister, Whitney, and her 2 girls flew in from Boston so that made the trip extra special.
For dinner that night, we went to Organ Stop Pizza. It was pretty amazing to listen to someone play the organ while you ate your pizza.
February 19th: Neena organized an Amazing Race (around her "grandparents' daycare") for the girls. It was so much fun! The adults could only drive them around in golf carts and help a little bit here and there. Abby, Stevie, Whitney, and I were Team Pink. Emma, Kennedy, and Andy were Team Blue.
We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out on the patio, listening to music, and the girls, of course, went swimming.
February 20th: We spent the late morning/early afternoon back at Neena's.
Later that afternoon, we met up with some friends who used to live in Park City but now live in the Phoenix area.
February 21st: After spending the morning at Neena's, we went to a Cubs vs. Dodgers game!
February 22nd: It was sad to say good-bye to everyone (and the 70 degree temps.) and head back to the snow and cold. What a fun trip filled with many memories.
