Hanging on By a Thread

I can't believe we are 4 days away from closing out another school year.  We are 4 days away from having a 2nd grader (eek!).  We are 4 days away from Abigail being in Pre-K (oh boy!).  We are 4 days away from ending our 9th year of teaching in Park City.   Crazy!

With the school year coming to a close, that means my list just seems to be getting longer and longer-report cards, end-of-year projects, inventory, testing, memory books, end-of-year celebrations, etc...
So, needless to say, I don't have a ton of pictures for this post.  However, with summer right around the corner, my posts will be much more frequent with far more photos.

Onward...

The girls and I went to Noche de Loteria (Bingo Night) at our school.

We went super simple and had Abby's 4th birthday party at Willow Creek Park--one of our favorites.  Kids took home a frisbee and bubbles.  It was super fun (and super easy clean-up)!

For Mother's Day, I wanted to go for a family hike and then have a picnic.

May 17th brought us this beautiful surprise.

One of my favorite days of the year, Running with Ed., was held on May 20th.

Emma even ran a 1.5 mile leg.

It is always such a fun day!  And my training must be paying off because I felt great after my 11 miles.

Abby had fun at the after-party.

My sister came to town for a visit.  That usually means cooking, baking, crafting, and playing at the park!

Emma had her end-of-the-year concert last week.  She is on the top left.

We bought a composter!

These two beauties were in our yard for a couple of days last week.  The girls LOVED watching them.  It was the first thing they looked for when we got home from school.

Abigail had her end-of-year celebration last week.

Andy is now 4-0!  We celebrated, quite simply, with a BBQ with good friends.

From Easter to Present

One day after returning from our amazing spring break camping trip, we were getting started on our Easter festivities.   We really like the Easter egg hunt at Wheeler Farm--very organized.

Easter breakfast!

The resorts closed on Easter Sunday so we took advantage and got one last time on the slopes before hanging up the skis.

We even got to ski with Nana!

 Emma loves the terrain park!

Then we were off to Uncle Jim and Aunt Robin's for a delicious Easter dinner.  The girls helped me make an Easter dirt cake for our dessert.

I am one lucky teacher!  Not only are my students amazing, but I have some pretty incredible parents, as well.  This is how one of my parents decorated my classroom door for teacher appreciation week.

Our weather was so wonky for a bit.  We had beautiful days followed by inches upon inches of snow.  I guess that's life in the mountains!

This was last week during recess.  Ahh....lovely.

We took a family trip to the Kamas Pool last weekend.

Emma and Andy had a little race across the obstacle course.

Abby is back at swim lessons.  Anybody who knows Abby understands why we had to put her in private swim lessons.  She loves the water, though, so that is a positive.

This past Saturday, the girls competed in their first trail race--Moose on the Loose.

Andy ran the 1.5 mile course with Emma and I ran the .5 mile course with Abby.  Here we are at the starting line.

We made it!  Abby ran the entire way...small strides and holding my hand the entire way.  Love!

Their medal was a stuffed animal moose on a lanyard.

Almost there...

The girls had a blast and keep asking when they can do it again!
