Our Thanksgiving Break

We had an amazing Thanksgiving break, especially since my sister came to visit!  Along with hosting Thanksgiving dinner and cutting down our Christmas tree, here are a few more things that kept us busy:

My sister went to Hawaii recently.  She thought it would be fun to have a luau with the girls!

We took my sister to watch the girls ski.

It was nice to do some relaxing at home.

Our tree skirt is made of reindeer from the girls' hand and foot prints each year.  I was on top of it this year and got it done early.

We got out on the ski slopes, again, today.  Abby did 2 runs today!  She took it very seriously.

It's a good thing we always pack hot chocolate!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We are thankful for you for reading our blog!  Please stop back soon!

Oh, Christmas Tree!

We just may have started a new tradition.  This year, we got a permit to cut down our own Christmas tree in the Uinta National Forest.  So, instead of helping the economy the morning after Thanksgiving, we ventured up to the Uintas to find our tree.

 Fun with Aunt Tina!

I think we worked off a lot of our Thanksgiving dinner, hiking up and down to find "the" tree.

Found it!  Now we just need to cut it down.

Tiiiiiimmmmmbbbbbbbeeeeeeerrrr!

It was a beautiful morning to be up in the Uintas.

It was definitely a skinnier tree than we usually get, but we were ready for something a little different this year.

Thanksgiving 2015

It was another wonderful Thanksgiving at the Tullis home!  We hosted dinner for 18 people this year. We were all stuffed like turkeys, but it was all worth it.

Abigail's 1st Time Skiing

We took advantage of the beautiful weather we had today, and took our "Sunday Funday" to the slopes.  Emma picked up right where she left off at the end of last season.  She grew a little impatient with Abigail and just wanted to go fast.  Abigail loved it!  We took her right up on the chairlift but only did one run with her.  We wanted her to want to go back and ski again.  Abby and I soaked up the vitamin D while Andy and Emma took a couple more runs.

I love that we are all on skis this year but, my goodness, does it ever take a long time to get everything gathered and loaded up, especially since it was our first time out this year.

Love this girl!

And this cutie pie!

Here we go!

It's the Little Things in Life

It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is only a few short days away.  We are very excited for my sister to come visit and can't wait to see what Aunt Tina has planned for activities!

Andy and I are both looking forward to a few extra days with the girls this week.  Family time is precious these days...

Emma and I went to a "parent party" at school.  It was all about how you can easily incorporate math while allowing your kids to help you cook at home.

 Just because...

Every year, the Park City Ski Team holds a ski swap.  We found a few goodies at amazing prices.  Most of it is for the girls, of course.  That seems to be how things work these days.

One night, we met one of Abby's very good friends, Haley, and her family at the bowling alley.

The Groupon used also gave you some tokens for the arcade area.

Can you tell these girls are excited for skiing?!?!

It was a winter wonderland last week.  We are crossing our fingers for a very snowy winter this year.

Our little helpers...

Actually, they really just played in the snow.

Some friends, Dawn and Josh, are moving to Seattle very soon.  We had one last get-together to say "good-bye."  We wish them all the best!

One of our "Sunday Funday" family hikes...

During art this past month, students made Guatemalan kites.  The whole school was supposed to go outside and fly their kites last Monday but, due to the weather, we had the celebration in the gym.

We took Abby to the dentist for the first time on Friday.  Emma is such a trooper at the dentist.  She loves getting her teeth cleaned.  We didn't get any photos of Abby, but she did great!  She let the dentist count her teeth and check for cavities.  No cavities for us!
