It's Not All Fun and Games This Summer...

We have done a lot of work around the house, too.  Andy has made 4 trips to the Uintas to cut down firewood for this winter.  Along with that comes hauling it to the backyard and getting it cut down into smaller pieces for the fireplace.    Keeping the house clean is an ongoing project, but we do our best to keep it looking nice.
The never-ending process of keeping the right sizes in drawers...
Emma has been wanting to do "homework."  We're not stopping her...

Abigail has even been "reading" photo books my mom has sent from recent trips.

A Day at the Cabin = Relaxation...

...except when you are chasing around a 15-month old the whole time!  We had a little family reunion at the cabin last weekend.  As a little extra excitement, we got to watch a bit of the Tour of Utah, too.

The Tour of Utah is an extremely difficult bike race that consists of 7 stages, taking the racers all around the state of Utah.  On this particular stage, they had to bike 107 miles that day, mostly uphill.

Each team has a car loaded up with extra bikes.    The medical staff and emergency personnel were in abundance, as well.

Emma and her cousins, Paia and Castle were cheerleaders for the racers.

Fun at the Zoo with Grandpa

My dad was here for a visit last week.  I think we wore him out.  There is never a dull moment in the Tullis home.  We just had to go to the zoo.  The zoo never gets old because the animals are usually doing something different each time we go.

The ostriches are a new addition to the zoo.

So are the zebras

We love the carousel!

We either enjoy ice cream or pretzels at the zoo each time we go.

The bears were quite active.  They had just been fed.

The Ultimate Pedaling Excursion

The Pedal Hopper is a 2,300 pound bicycle (originally from Holland) that can hold 16 people (17 including the driver).  There are many "versions" of this bicycle all over the country.  In most places, you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage while pedaling away.  This is Utah, however, and that is a no-no.  We still had a blast, pedaling from bar to bar in downtown Salt Lake City.

Curious, Anyone?

Yesterday, we crossed another thing off our "Tullis Family Summer Bucket List."  We explored the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point.  What a fun place! But, boy, is it ever busy.  We thought we would be okay getting there on a Thursday morning, about when it opened.  Hundreds of other people must have been thinking the same.

We knew it would be a hit when Emma saw a door, just her size.

If Emma were a hummingbird, I don't think she'd get too far.
I loved that they had areas just for kids, ages 0-3, to play in.

Not sure if Emma would get much to eat if she were a python, either.

What does a tornado feel like?

And just what does a hurricane feel like...

 Having fun with motion...

Abigail stood here and "fed" the rabbit for about 10 minutes.

Emma didn't mind getting soaking wet.
