Pirates/Princesses Day

Tuesday was Pirates/Princesses Day at the daycare. This was the closest dress to a princess dress that we have right now. Unfortunately, Emma spew her breakfast all over herself on the way to school that day so the dress lasted about an hour. Oh well... It was cute while it lasted.

Pajama Day

This week is Spirit Week at the daycare. Since it is connected to the high school, the daycare is doing the same spirit week as the high school. It must be Homecoming week. Today was Pajama Day...

A is for Apple

My mom wanted us to plant a tree for Emma. We wanted to plant an apple tree but because they need each other to fertilize we had to get two of them.

All Tuckered Out

We've been taking Emma out for hikes in her backpack. She loves it! Her legs dangle down and she has a pretty good view from up there. We recently went on a pretty long one and she just couldn't take it anymore...

Utah State Fair

It was everybody's first time to the Utah State Fair. You just can't beat that fair food!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!

It was Grandpa Tullis' birthday last Friday. He turned 49 (or something like that).

Emma's 1st Bike Ride

With Emma sitting up so well by herself, we thought we would give the bike trailer a try. She loved it! We did almost run over 5 snakes on the trail, though. Extra wheels means extra chances you'll run one over.

6 Months Old!!!

Our little Emma girl turned 1/2 year old yesterday!! We have given up on having Emma hold her sign. Now, we just snap pictures of her waving it, holding it, eating it...

Twins and Triplets

Our school colors are red and black. These are also the school colors for the high school, which had its first home football game yesterday. Here we are getting ready to go to school, all dressed alike. Andy and I are showing school spirit for McPolin Elementary and Emma is showing school spirit for the high school (which the daycare is attached to).

Go Utes!

This past Thursday was the first football game for the University of Utah (Utes). Emma just had to represent.

1st Day of School/Daycare

This past Monday was Emma's first day of daycare (but I like to call it school). We started the process last December but were relieved to get her into the district daycare. (They only accept 4 infants.) It is right next door to our school so, if there is an emergency, we are both right there. It's also just fun to know she is just a hop, skip and a jump away. On Monday, she was a bit fussy. It got a little better on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday were her best days--no tears, playing with the other 3 infants and smiling at all of the teachers.

It kind of looks like she is forcing a smile here. (Just a note--the sweater she is wearing is the same sweater Andy wore as a baby. Grandma Kim got it all cleaned up and added a little colored yarn.)

We Go Camping Again!

Our goal was to get Emma out camping at least once this summer. Well, we can add another camping trip to the list. We camped at Strawberry Reservoir on Friday night. She was so good--a natural. Since she fell asleep so early last time, this was her first time around a camp fire.

We went camping with Jen, Larry, Ben and, of course, the dogs (not shown) Cooper, Sarah (showing her back side) and Gibson

Skunk 1, Cooper 0

Well, we can add "skunked" to Cooper's list of mishaps. We let him out this morning around 6:00 a.m. Andy smelled skunk when he let him in but didn't think much of it--just thought a skunk had sprayed somewhere. He sure did spray somewhere...at Cooper. The smell was so nauseating and putrid. We had already let Cooper in the house so the damage had been done. The house STUNK. Cooper has already had 2 baths today. (Did you know there is such a thing as de-skunking shampoo?) Not sure if he'll be allowed in the house tonight yet. He's been outside all day. Luckily, it's a nice day. Needless to say, the windows are wide open, we're burning candles, baking cinnamon in the oven (saw that trick on the internet), and cooking bacon. It definitely smells better in the house but everywhere I go I still smell skunk. Ugh.

Bath Time Fun

I'm not exactly sure what to call these poses, but they sure were cute. It's Emma's new thing lately...holding on to her toes and doing her stretches.

Jack Johnson and G Love...Live!

What a great concert! For our big anniversary splurge, we went to the Jack Johnson concert last Friday night. Amazing music! Gotta love it! G Love also played. He is amazing to watch, as well. He has a tremendous amount of energy he puts into his music. To top off the evening, G Love and Jack Johnson played/sang together at the end.

We could not have asked for better weather. Plus, the scenery wasn't so bad either.

Emma's First Camping Trip

Maybe it's too early to tell, but I'm thinking Emma is going to love camping through the years. She did GREAT on her first camping trip. We didn't go too far from home--only about 20 minutes. We stayed at a campground at Rockport Reservoir.

The water was a little too chilly.

eating squash for the first time

Cooper was in his glory.

thumbs up!

This is Emma's tent. (Yes, it goes inside our big tent.)

The chipmunks were taunting Cooper the entire time.

Emma was fast asleep at 8:30 p.m. She slept until 7:00 a.m.

Good Mornin'!!

staying warm on a cool morning

Andy's cousins, Grace and Claire, and Grace's friend, Lauren, came with us. We all had a great time!

This was the first time for camping for both Claire and Emma.
