It's a Girl!

What an exciting day! A parent of one of Andy's students (who is a doctor in the field of maternal-fetal medicine) offered to do an ultrasound for us, including some 4-D shots. Amazing! We hadn't found out the sex...until today! It looks like Emma Millicent Tullis will be entering the world around March 12th. We can't wait to meet our little daughter!

Yep...it's a girl!

Pumpkin Carving 2009

Ahhh...the holidays are just around the corner, the leaves are falling, winter is coming...soon, and that means one thing--it's pumpkin carving time! This past Friday we had about 15 people over for dinner and pumpkin carving. Good times!

Ben was in town so the "banana" clan was together again! ("Banana" is short for Ben, Andy, and Jana all put together.)

This was one of my favorites--the puking pumpkin.

A Couple of Things...

I woke up to big, beautiful snowflakes this morning. It made me want to watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (my all-time favorite holiday movie). Unfortunately, it later turned to rain. Now I don't think it knows what to do out there.

Yesterday I went to a Baby Expo down in Salt Lake. Um...let's just say I'm a little overwhelmed right now. They did have some really cute things, though. For as much as we listen to music, I'm going to assume that this little one is going to be a music lover. S/He now has her/his first music shirt...

Snow in September?!?!

I guess that's what we should expect when we live in the Rockies. Yesterday, it was a gorgeous 75 degree fall day. Today...35 degrees and snow. What a difference! We have Thursday and Friday off and our initial plan was to go camping up in the Uintas. We'll probably be modifying that plan and just laying low around town. It's supposed to be in the 40's for the next couple of days.

A little snow doesn't stop us from taking Cooper on his walk.

Hiking to Shadow Lake

What an incredible fall day! Andy decided he wanted to go on a little longer (and harder) hike today and, boy, did we ever! We are all sore and exhausted. We basically hiked up the ski resort runs until we got to the lift of the highest run-Jupiter. At the lift is a beautiful lake. We both took our shoes and socks off and waded in the crystal clear mountain water. Ahh...

We walked by a bunch of old mining buildings.

Seeing the lake for the first time...finally!

16 weeks...

I'm actually a couple of days into my 17th week but, oh well, it's close enough. We went on a gorgeous fall (4.5 hour) hike today and decided to do the belly shot when we got to the top. It's funny how my bump changes. Some days it feels pudgy and other days it feels like an actual growing belly.

A Beautiful Fall Day

What a gorgeous day!! The leaves are turning colors and the air is crisp (yet still warm, if that makes any sense) so what better way to spend our time than on a hike in the woods. These colors remind me a lot of Wisconsin. I love the fall!!! It's also the beginning to the many fun holidays to come.

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend we attended a wedding at the Alta ski resort. The weather could not have been more beautiful for the beautiful couple. Andy was in the wedding so we also had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was a fun-filled weekend with great friends.

Our friend, Sloan, served as officiant.

I thought it was really cute when the make-up artist touched up Jen's make-up before the cake cutting.

Thump-Thump, Thump-Thump

It was another exciting day at the doctor's office! We heard the heartbeat this time. What an incredible sound! The doctor is really pleased with how things are going. I've gained 4 pounds, most of which, I think, is in my chest area. :) No photos to post this time, but we'll do another belly shot soon.

Labor Day Weekend

We spent our Labor Day weekend in Idaho and Wyoming. We went with our friends, Jeff and Courtney, and Courtney's mom lives in Driggs, Idaho, so that's where we stayed for the weekend. It's right by the Idaho-Wyoming border so that made going to Wyoming really easy. On Saturday, we did about a 4-hour float down the Teton River. Sunday took us to Grand Teton National Park for some bike riding. It was so relaxing to get out of town for the weekend. We couldn't have asked for better weather, better scenery, or better adventures with friends.

As we floated down the Teton River, we saw a mama moose and her calves cross the river.

12 weeks...

I must say I'm not feeling quite so fatigued at this point. I'm still tired after working but at least I can get my head off of my pillow in the morning.

Sigma Nu 85th Anniversary Party

Last weekend we went to a very nice dinner up at The Canyons. It was a celebration for the 85th anniversary of the Sigma Nu house at the University of Utah, Andy's fraternity. There were guys of all ages there...from guys who currently live in the house to guys in their 50's and 60's. It was a lot of fun to see the brotherhood with which Andy spent so much of his time. It was even more special that both Andy and his father were there because they were both commanders at the house.

I'm not sure if I got all of them in the picture, but this is all of the guys who attended...
