February 2023

To say I am a little behind on the blog posts is an understatement.  We're still here!

February 4th: We went to the World Cup at Deer Valley to watch the moguls.  Amazing.

February 11th:  Andy and I enjoyed our Saturdays while the girls did their ski groups.  The snow was so good we usually stayed at the resort all day.  We did venture across the street a couple of times, though, to get in a little cross country skiing.

February 14th:  We met my cousin, Heith, down in Salt Lake for dinner.  He is a pilot for Delta and had a layover in Salt Lake.

February 16th:  Emma had her winter band concert.

February 18th:  The NBA All-Star game was in Salt Lake City this year.  Tickets are crazy expensive so we opted for the NBA All-Star practice instead.

February 21st:  After a family ski day, Emma decided to make her great-great-grandma's sweet rolls.  They were delicious!!

February 22nd:  It. just. keeps. coming.

February 23rd:  We did some night skiing up in Brighton with some friends.  The snow is so high you can barely see our cabin.

It was cooooold.

February 24th:  Instead of traveling for our February break/Ski Week, we decided it was best to stay home and keep up with all of the snow that just kept coming...and coming....  Shoveling off the mounds of snow on the side of the house was a regular chore.  Since our roof slides (thank goodness) the snow piles up pretty quickly.

That night, we went to a Utah Grizzlies (semi-pro hockey) game.

February 26th: And this is why we had to shovel a couple hours every day (or so it seemed).  This is what happens when our roofs slide (big sigh).

January: Happy 2023!

And just like that, it's 2023!  It feels like January was super busy and went by as fast as lightning, but I don't have a ton of photos to show for it.  In a nutshell, we pretty much worked, skied, shoveled, and watched the girls play basketball.

January 1st:  Our New Year's Day started off with some crazy skiing conditions--as in really, really deep snow--and ended with a Packer's football game.

It was a perfect night for Emma's chicken and dumplings.

January 2nd:  We were back on the slopes!  Today Abigail skied her first double black diamond--McConkey's Bowl!

January 3rd:  The snow has been crazy this year.  Here are a few photos of our school.

We do have a pretty awesome view from our playground.

January 7th: Today was the girls' first day of their ski groups, which means it was our first day of our weekly ski dates.

January 11th: This pretty much sums up our winter which, at this point, feels like will never end.  Shoveling and snow blowing has become a family event these days.

January 15th:  Here we go again...

Here are a couple of our neighbors' houses...

January 18th:  The girls are loving basketball.  Abigail has games or practices on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Emma has games and practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

January 21st: With both girls having ski lessons on Saturdays, Andy and I have been loving our Saturday ski dates.  On tis particular Saturday, we skied down to Main Street to check out the opening weekend of Sundance festivities.

That night, we went to a Sundance Film--Eileen (starring Anne Hathaway--in the tall boots).

January 22nd:  We got a lot of puzzles for Christmas so we have been putting working on them all month.  This one, in particular, was most challenging.

January 27th:  There aren't many kids who can say they took ski lessons at an Olympic venue--Utah Olympic Park.
