April Adventures--Social Distance Style

It was around this time that our county put a "Stay at Home" order in place, meaning we should only leave our house and country for essential business.  This was quite an adjustment for us since we are always on the go.  We managed.  There were really good days and not so good days.  Thank goodness we could still get outside to recreate!

Easter 2020

We made paper maché eggs (which later turned into color birdhouses since they took a while to dry).

Our other April adventures consisted of a little of this and a little of that (with still doing school 4 hours/day for the kids and 6.5 hours/day for Andy and me).

I love taking walks with this girl.

Abigail wanted to learn about koalas...

...and the difference between black and red ants.

Aunt Tina sent the girls some crafts to keep them busy.

Grandma Sherry made this beautiful Elsa dress for Abigail.

We went for a lot of bike rides.

The girls did a lot of cooking and baking.

Sometimes they even took our order.

Andy and the girls made bread and naan.

Our team has passed out packets and iPads on a couple of occasions, mask and gloves included, of course.

One of our students showed up with this awesome sign for us! I sure miss those kiddos.

I think we had one of the most colorful streets in the neighborhood.

The remote control cars have gotten a lot of use lately.

We ventured up to the Uintas a couple of times for hikes and picnics.

The girls camped out in the basement, since we could not go camping because of the "Stay at Home" order.

On Earth Day, we picked up trash around the neighborhood.

The Barbies have been very busy lately.

Don't ask...

Emma and Andy have been doing quite a bit of art, especially watercolor.

The girls got all of their fairy garden supplies organized.

March Madness

March had a normal start but, around mid-March, that all changed when COVID-19 came to town.  Our world, along with everyone else's, turned upside down.

At the beginning of March, it was business as usual.  We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday at school.

The girls had their last ski lessons.  We still had lots of snow so we went on many walks around the neighborhood.

Emma turned 10!  What?!  Double digits!  We were very fortunate to still have her birthday party at The Paint Mixer on March 14th.

My sister was in town that weekend so she joined in on the painting fun.

That afternoon, things took a turn for the worse.  School would be moving to online learning.  Ski resorts were talking about closing for the remainder of the season.

Learning areas were established.

We tried to keep everybody's things in their own area--mine included.

I made a checklist for Abigail so she could check things off when she completed them.  I taped her Google Meet schedule to the front (because keeping track of 4 people's video chats seemed quite daunting).  Every 2nd-5th grade student took their laptop home.  Every K-1st grader received an iPad for their at-home learning.

We took a drive up to see the cabin in Brighton.

Then we took a hike to Donut Falls.

The sun felt glorious!

We played lots of board games.
