One Last Camping Trip

We just had to get one last camping trip in before the skis come out for the season.  With 2 days off from school for fall break, we like to spend that time in the great outdoors.  There is way too much to explore in our beautiful state.

But first, a few hodgepodge fall adventures:

Every Thursday, my class has Life Skills for 30 minutes.  I do not need to be in the classroom so I spend that time helping in Abby's kindergarten classroom.

When you have the Park City Education Foundation giving grants to teachers and supporting education in Park City, you do what you can to pay it back, even if that means being on the local television station.

A heavy snow hit Park City a couple of weeks ago.  It bent a lot of our trees...

...and made it look like a winter wonderland.

We had one last dinner with Nana and Bill before they ventured down to Mexico for the winter season.

We headed 5 hours south for our last camping trip of the season.  At one point, we were at about 9,000 feet elevation and encountered some snow.

The temperature was supposed to dip down throughout the night, and rain was in the forecast, so we decided to rent a pop-up trailer for this trip.  It worked out well for us.

On the way to our hike, we stopped at the Dance Hall, where the pioneers stopped along the way to sing, dance, and play their fiddles.

Then, we were off to our beautiful 6-mile hike in Willow Gulch.

The next day, we hiked Spooky and Peek-a-boo slot canyons.

We hiked up Spooky and then had to walk through the desert about 1/2 mile to get to Peek-a-boo.

There were a lot of puddles to maneuver around through this canyon.

Our last obstacle was sliding down some slick rock...

...and into a gigantic "lake."

I guess if you have to hike down to get to the hike, it only makes sense that you have to hike up to get back to the car.

And now, the girls and I are in Washington D.C. celebrating 2 bar mitzvahs...
