Sealing Up September

Seeing as though October is almost over, I better get some updates on this little thing we call our family blog!  We had a lot of fun events happen in September so I will get right to the photos.

I had another 1/2 marathon on September 16th.  I didn't train nearly as well as I did for my other races but it was an absolute beautiful morning for a run.

We went right from my 1/2 marathon down to Provo to watch the Badger vs. BYU football game.  I couldn't pass up the chance to watch the Badgers play when they were just 45 minutes away!

The Badgers won!

September 22nd brought us our first snowfall.

The girls were very excited and Abby even asked if we could go skiing.

We had a weekend of really yucky weather so what do I do?  I redo our mudroom and put in a command center in hopes of keeping up with our schedules and keeping our countertops clean.

When you repaint the mudroom you have to put the jackets and gear somewhere...

Please tell me we are not the only ones who have struggled with our countertop chaos...

We did put a lot of our jackets in other closets around the house but, I will admit right here, our family will always have a lot of jackets (and shoes and gear).  I don't think we can do anything about that.  It's just finding a way to manage it all.

We LOVE our little command center!

When Emma has tennis lessons for an hour and we try to keep ourselves busy...

Our school had their fall festival at the end of September.  While I helped out at the silent auction, the girls had tons of fun.

I am so proud of Emma for going out of her comfort zone and wanting to try the rock climbing wall.  She did so great!

You just never know what kind of weather you will get at fall soccer...

Fall is in Full Swing!

We are back at it.  Tennis lessons on Tuesdays. Swimming lessons on Thursdays.  Soccer on Saturday mornings.  Emma is all signed up for ski lessons.  (She is doing the Mountain Team at the Park City Mountain Resort base for 10 weeks.)  Meetings, meetings, and more meetings before and after school.  I have a 1/2 marathon coming up on Saturday, September 16th, so I am "kind of" still training for that in between everything else.  But...we still get out and have our family time, especially when the weekends roll around.   That is a non-negotiable!

Abby and her good friend, Halle, are on the same soccer team.

Snacks at soccer are the best!

Sunday Funday family hike in Summit Park

Andy and Emma went to a Utes game one night so I let Abby choose what she wanted for dinner.  Her choice--macaroni 'n cheese and beans

Game time!

spending time at the cabin

Abby wanted to try her "big girl" bike.

It wouldn't be a trip to the cabin if you didn't get soft serve ice cream from the Brighton Store.

Miner's Day (Labor Day) parade on Main Street (after my 10-mile run in the heat...ugh)

We love the Park City Marching Band!

Last night we went over to a friend's house to watch some football.  Once it got dark enough, they set up their outdoor screen.  Fun!

And then, obviously, the kids had to put on a show before we left!

Today we went on a fun hike up to Cecret Lake in Little Cottonwood Canyon.  It is usually about a 2-mile hike roundtrip but since the upper parking lot was full and we had to park at the lower parking lot, that added about 3 miles on to our hike.  It was worth it!
