Summer Break Week #2

Well that last week went quickly.  This past week was filled with a wedding, warm weather, and wine!

One of Andy's cousins, Whitney Berger, got married last weekend.  It was held at Tag Ranch in Coalville and it was such a beautiful venue!

Andy had a very eventful Father's Day!  The girls and I got him (okay, it's for the whole family) a mini projector to watch movies outside on our upper deck.  Then he played a round of golf with his dad.  The special day ended with a delicious dinner and a hike on our favorite trail--the Moose Trail.  Andy asked for a bone-in steak so this is what we got for him:

Emma had tennis lessons this week.  She is really liking them so I think we'll stick with tennis lesson in the fall and, maybe, forgo soccer.  We'll see...

Andy had a work conference to attend Tuesday-Thursday near Napa, CA.  This mama tagged along for a little rest and relaxation!  Okay, so I didn't do must resting because, if you know me, I have a hard time relaxing.  My first day of adventures took me to the Jelly Belly Factory.  It was a 9-mile roundtrip walk but it was well worth it.

That's a lot of jelly beans!

Each evening, I would meet up with Andy and the other teachers for dinner and explorations around Napa.

Day #2 took me on a bike ride through Napa Valley, made complete by a couple of stops at wineries.

I must admit it was a bit awkward wine tasting by myself (at first) but I quickly got over that!

This was my ride for 17 miles.  Note to self--next time, get the gel seat.

Summer Break Week #1

Well, we are officially on summer break!  I have said it before and I will say it again--Andy and I are very fortunate that we are both able to be home during the summer and create amazing memories with the girls.  Both of us will be doing some work over the summer but, other than that, we hardly have a day where there isn't something going on.

Our first week of summer break was no exception.

I signed up to do the Park City Trail Series again.  Andy and Ben even did the 5K.  Here we all are at the starting line.

We went up to Brighton last weekend to open up the cabin.  The snow did some damage to the deck.

It wasn't on the list of to-do's but a new deck will be in the works.

After a year of private swim lessons, Abigail finally put her head under water!!

We ventured out on a camping trip from Wednesday-Friday.  It was short but we have to squeeze them in when we can!  We stayed at the Mt. Timpanogos Campground, which was really quiet and private.  We normally are not campground campers but it was really nice, and only 1 hour from our driveway.

Sundance was only a few miles away so we walked around there on our first evening.  The girls found their favorite photo on the wall.

Sundance is so beautiful!

 S'mores are always a must!

The girls conquered the Timpanogos Cave hike the next day.  It is a 1.5 mile hike up to the cave (1,000 vertical feet).  Here they are checking out the local rock formations.

I have been in a lot of caves but this one was pretty spectacular.

We look forward to sharing our summer adventures with you!
