Running With Ed. 2016!!

It's one of my favorite days of the year--fun costumes, great friends, exercise, and raising money for education in the Park City School District.  What more could we ask for?!  Well, this year we got a little more than we asked for...in the form of rain, wind, and chilly temperatures.  It sure didn't stop our spirits from "running" high, though!

The things we do for our students...and we love every minute of it!

Our school had 4 teacher teams running in the race.  Here is one of them...

Andy, making his way up to the Utah Olympic Park...

As runners approached the exchange, someone handed them a few pieces of candy to toss into the air as another person hit him/her with a blow-up bat.  Too fun!

Emma with her friend, Catalina, and her kindergarten teacher, Ms. Denine

Due to the weather, most of the festivities were held indoors and things got festive!  This is our school...

Our PTO is amazing!!  They also had a taco truck giving out free (absolutely delicious) tacos.

This was right at the end of my 6-mile leg.  Emma ran the last little bit with me...too cute!

Yahoo!!  The sun came out for our last couple of legs.  At the end of the final leg, teams run into the finish line all together.

a couple of our teacher teams...I should note that we did win the costume contest this year!

Sunday's weather was not much better.  It has been a chilly, wet spring around here.

The sun finally came out late afternoon so we took full advantage and got out on a little hike.

And, of course, found some puddles...

All of the moisture sure did green everything up quickly.

Capitol Reef National Park

This past weekend, we ventured down south for another desert camping trip.  It's funny...I now usually judge the success of our camping trips by whether or not the girls had fun camping and exploring.  We can call this latest trip to Capitol Reef National Park a success!

I'll take it!

Home sweet home for 2 nights...

Emma and Mia getting ready to hike Sulphur Creek

Abigail walked a majority of the 3-mile hike by herself.

There was one part of the hike where we had to drop down a bit (and then climb back up on the way back).

This was, by far, the hit of the hike--the water!

Somebody loved the mud!

lunch break

The kids played in the water for about an hour after lunch.

The kids did awesome on the hike!

Elsewhere in the park...

The kids loved playing bocce ball back at camp.

Sunsets in the desert are the best.
