Beach Bums

We celebrated Kim's 60th birthday with a week-long stay at a beach house in Mission Bay. Glorious!

We rented paddle boards for the week...so much fun!

We primarily hung out on the bay side where the waters were calmer for the girls (and for paddle boarding).  We walked to the ocean side one night and witnessed a fantastic sunset.

Sea World!

On one of the days we were at the beach house, we took a break from the beach and ventured to Sea World. We know Emma probably won't remember much from this outing, but her excitement at seeing the animals was priceless.

Luckily, we were not in the "splash zone."

The sea lions were hilarious!  You could buy food to feed them and this one on the rock was doing whatever it took to get some food...barking, posing, hopping.  Too funny!

not a huge fan of the camera on this one

Friends!

Andy has quite a few friends in California that he still keeps in touch with so, one night, we met up for a BBQ at one of their houses.

With such a big backyard, you have to have the toys to go with it.  She loved the motorized red car.

So this was supposed to be a nice group shot.  I will let you use your imagination as to what we all are doing at this moment.  (Andy and I can't look at this picture without laughing hysterically.)

Out and About in Downtown San Diego

After our 1-week stay at the beach house, we spent the next few nights at Andy's mom's condo in downtown San Diego. It was so much fun to explore the city.

We walked around Balboa Park.

We stopped and watched the magician for a bit.

On another day, we explored Seaport Village.

You can't go to the coast and not eat fish and chips.

Emma LOVED the carousel ride.

Last Stop...Mesquite, Nevada

On our drive back to Park City, we stayed in Mesquite for the night and, boy, was it HOT! 110 degrees HOT! The hotel we stayed at was doing some remodeling and had the pool closed when we got there. Luckily, they only worked until 5:00 so, after that, we cooled off with a dip in the pool. Emma is getting so comfortable in the water. She is now jumping off the ledge (with her froggy vest on, of course) and getting her entire head wet.
