Summer Vacation...Almost

Even though we still have a week of school left, it sure has felt like summer vacation around here.  The weather has been gorgeous and we've been spending a lot of time outdoors...more than usual!

Emma "graduated" from the toddler class.  She will be in the "twos" next year.  As she was walking across the stage, she spotted us in the crowd and let out a big scream of excitement...too cute.

having some grub with her good friend, Bodie

We went out for a nice bike ride with the Ostroski family.

All of that biking made the girls want to do a little swimming.

Emma tried to pull Avila in the wagon.  She made it about 3 feet before trying another method.

Pushing the wagon didn't work quite as well, but Avila loved it!

With temps close to 90 on Saturday, we did a little swimming at Andy's dad's condo.

It's not a weekend in the Tullis household without doing a little gardening.

Emma received some cute Dora gardening gloves from Aunt Tina.

Yep...I'd say she loves to get dirty.

Today, we are off to the cabin to throw around the frisbee and enjoy this beautiful day.

Time Flies!

Yikes!  Where does the time go?  It's been busy, as usual, in the Tullis household.  With just 3 weeks left of school, the countdown is definitely on.  The weather had been just gorgeous so we've been spending quite a bit of time outside.  Andy and I both received a plethora of plants for Teacher Appreciation Week so it looks like a greenhouse around here.  We are going to put my mom to work when she is here at the end of June.  We'd like to put in a tiered vegetable and perennial garden.

It was like National Geographic in our yard this past Wednesday evening.  As I was looking out our bedroom window with Emma (something she must do before going to bed) we saw a limping moose come out of the bushes and start eating grass.  Then we noticed a deer on the other side of the yard.  Pretty cool!  We've had moose in our yard and deer in our yard but never at the same time.  The moose limps off to the left while the deer hops off to the right.  About a minute later, the moose emerges from the left, running.  He stops and looks behind him.  Right from where the moose came out, a bear comes into view!  The moose limps/runs away and the bear chases after him for a few seconds.  The moose got away safely (we think) and the bear continued to mill around our neighbor's yard.  Now, you are probably wondering where the pictures are.  Well, that was the last thing on my mind because I was so amazed at the scene that was taking place in our very own backyard.  We're not sure if we will ever see that exhibit again.

I admit I was terrible at taking photos these past few weeks.  I don't have a ton to share but enjoy!

trying to get Cooper to swim

For the 3rd year in a row, we participated in the Running with Ed 41-mile relay race to raise money for the Park City Education Foundation.  Our team's theme was The Waldo...

Desert Time!

Last weekend, we went back down to the desert and did some camping with Uncle Ben.  We stayed at a couple of different places--The Wedge and Buckhorn Wash.  I have to say, again, that Emma LOVES camping!  Enjoy the photos!

The Wedge

Emma loves her Uncle Ben.

Who says camping food has to be blah?

Wow!

Buckhorn Wash

That is definitely not a Cooper print.

This is the pictograph that was right near our campsite.

There are pictographs all over Buckhorn Wash...very cool!  You just have to wonder what story they were trying to tell...

Hodgepodge

I just wanted to include some photos from the past few weeks...just a hodgepodge of things...

We never quite know what Emma will come out wearing.

My cousin, Heith--a pilot, had a long layover in Salt Lake so he spent some time with us.

Avila and Emma in Avila's new wagon she got for her 1st birthday.  What a fun party!

The kids made bird feeders.  Larry's mom made these adorable aprons for the kids.

They could do some painting.

Tough girl!

Emma was obsessed with trying on a lady's shoes.

Mmmmm...cake!

Emma loves to garden.  Here she is helping to transplant her tomatoes and peppers.

Every May, we do a running relay race called Running with Ed (Education).  You dress up in costumes so this year our team is Where's Waldo?
