Race for ED
Yesterday, Andy and I participated in the "Race for ED," a 40-mile relay race which raised money for the Park City Education Foundation to fund teacher grants. We were planning on taking Emma with us in the stroller but with the weather forecast looking bleak a few days earlier, we decided it would be best for her to spend the day with Tom and Terry. It's a good thing we did because we woke up to 4 inches of snow on our deck and it was still coming down! Later, the sun came out, it got pretty windy and the high only got to 40. All in all, though, it was a fun-filled day filled with laughter, sore legs, fun costumes, and amazing spirit.
And we're off...

Notice the snow in the background. It's May 22nd!!

Our team was the 70's Marathon Runners. I chose not to wear my costume because of the weather but, as you can see, Andy showed his spirit. You've got to love those thrift stores.

Just finishing my last leg of the race, a 4.6-miler.

At the finish line...

2 Months Old
Yesterday was Emma's 2-month birthday! I can't say it was the most exciting day for her because she got her shots. Poor little thing. I've never seen a deeper shade of red when she was crying. Luckily it only lasted about 15 seconds and then she was good. Later that night, though, was rough. Her little legs must have been so sore. I think she was so tired she cried herself to sleep.
Emma now weighs 11 pounds, 1/2 ounce and is 23 inches long! It's no wonder some of her sleepers are too small.

Mother's Day 2010
What a wonderful 1st Mother's Day! Andy's mom is here so it was double special. Upon waking up (I got to sleep in until 8:15!) I walked into the kitchen to find Andy making crepes for breakfast. What a guy! It was a beautiful spring day so we ventured out for a nice walk. Cooper also had his first swim of the season. Then we met some family for a delicious brunch. Yummy! I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Randoms...
It's hard to believe Emma is 7 weeks old! Now I know why everyone was telling us to treasure every moment because time goes so fast. Andy has been home for a few days this week, doing the Mr. Mom thing. It's been great! I came home today to the smell of cookies baking in the oven. Impressive! Just wanted to show off some more photos...

Back to the Real World
I went back to work last week. It wasn't easy but having my mom here made it easier to leave every morning. Emma had a great time with Grandma Sherry. They sang and danced. They took lots of walks. According to my mom, they had a lot of good "talks" too. Not only did Grandma watch Emma all week, but she even managed to paint two of our bathrooms! Our goal for this week--take more pictures!!

One Month Old!
This past Sunday marked Emma's one-month birthday! Time sure has gone by quickly. It's fun to watch her each day and see what changes/developments are happening. She's really trying to hold her head up by herself. Her hands and feet are constantly moving. Her beautiful eyes tune in to something and she is just mesmerized. She is also smiling more, which is fun to watch.
I took her to her one-month check-up yesterday and all is well. In the past 2 weeks she has gained 1 pound and grew 1/4 inch. The doctor is really happy with how she looks and how things are progressing.

Time with Family
We've had a lot of family time recently. My dad was in town for a week and my sister is visiting right now. It's great to have extra hands around to help out with Emma or things around the house.

My dad shoveled every morning that he was here!

We're lovin' the BOB.

She just got out of the bath...

Sporting her "flipper slippers" (and, also, one of her many pairs of (newborn) pants that are still too big for her)
