Mother's Day 2010
What a wonderful 1st Mother's Day! Andy's mom is here so it was double special. Upon waking up (I got to sleep in until 8:15!) I walked into the kitchen to find Andy making crepes for breakfast. What a guy! It was a beautiful spring day so we ventured out for a nice walk. Cooper also had his first swim of the season. Then we met some family for a delicious brunch. Yummy! I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Randoms...
It's hard to believe Emma is 7 weeks old! Now I know why everyone was telling us to treasure every moment because time goes so fast. Andy has been home for a few days this week, doing the Mr. Mom thing. It's been great! I came home today to the smell of cookies baking in the oven. Impressive! Just wanted to show off some more photos...

Back to the Real World
I went back to work last week. It wasn't easy but having my mom here made it easier to leave every morning. Emma had a great time with Grandma Sherry. They sang and danced. They took lots of walks. According to my mom, they had a lot of good "talks" too. Not only did Grandma watch Emma all week, but she even managed to paint two of our bathrooms! Our goal for this week--take more pictures!!

One Month Old!
This past Sunday marked Emma's one-month birthday! Time sure has gone by quickly. It's fun to watch her each day and see what changes/developments are happening. She's really trying to hold her head up by herself. Her hands and feet are constantly moving. Her beautiful eyes tune in to something and she is just mesmerized. She is also smiling more, which is fun to watch.
I took her to her one-month check-up yesterday and all is well. In the past 2 weeks she has gained 1 pound and grew 1/4 inch. The doctor is really happy with how she looks and how things are progressing.

Time with Family
We've had a lot of family time recently. My dad was in town for a week and my sister is visiting right now. It's great to have extra hands around to help out with Emma or things around the house.

My dad shoveled every morning that he was here!

We're lovin' the BOB.

She just got out of the bath...

Sporting her "flipper slippers" (and, also, one of her many pairs of (newborn) pants that are still too big for her)

One Protective "Puppy"
Cooper didn't know quite what to think of Emma when he first saw her. Now, things have really turned a 180 and he is very protective of her. Sometimes, when we're holding her, he follows us around the house. When she cries (when we're changing her diaper) he will come into her room and just sit and watch. He lays by her when she is in her bouncy chair. It's pretty adorable.

Life at Home
We have enjoyed every minute with little Emma since arriving home from the hospital last Saturday. She is 1 week old today! Andy went back to work on Wednesday so it's just been Emma and me. A majority of our time is spent feeding, changing diapers and sleeping.

Emma has had some tummy time, although she wasn't a huge fan of it.

On Tuesday, we went on our first outing to the pediatrician's office. Emma had lost 1 pound at the hospital (putting her at 6 lbs. 2 oz.) but now weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. The sweater she is wearing is pretty special. It was Andy's sweater when he was a baby and it was made by Emma's great-great grandma, Fontella, who is no longer with us.

Thanks for the cute bear suit, Natalie!

We got the okay to take Emma out in the Baby Bjorn so we didn't wait long to grab that opportunity. Cooper was very protective on our walk. He would stay right next to Andy's side (with Emma in the Baby Bjorn).

Update
With our weekly doctor visits, we're getting a better idea of when we could expect our little one to enter the world. At our appointment yesterday, we found out that I am 1 cm dilated. We know that doesn't mean too much but, at least, it's a start. I go back to the doctor on Monday and we'll see what happens from there... Everything will all be happening so soon!! With the recent move into our new home, the nursery was our first priority. Everything is set up and ready to go. Now we just need to wait for Grandma Sherry to come to do some painting. The orange/peach walls are just not our style. :)
